It's a 5th Wednesday and you're still having virtual meetings because of COVID-19 so what do you do? Host a squadron virtual tour of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force!
Tonight we took the cadets, senior members, and guests through the 360 degree virtual visit w/self-guided tour audio offered by the museum. We explored the early air force history, watched videos and viewed artifacts of historical figures for which many of our CAP achievements are named and browsed though WWI and WWII where we even observed an early Civil Air Patrol plane on display. We jumped into the cockpits of several aircraft with the 360 cockpit app and finally closed out our tour with some of the modern day aviation aircraft and missions.
We will provide live coverage of the return of NASA Astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley to Earth in SpaceX's Dragon “Endeavour” spacecraft. They're scheduled to leave the International Space Station at 7:34 p.m. EDT Aug. 1 and splash down at 2:42 p.m. EDT Aug. 2. Get more details: https://go.nasa.gov/2D7Kkbq
Thank you to our acting c/1st Sgt, C/MSgt Evanina and our newest c/NCO C/SSgt Hardin for a great Aerospace Education presentation on Airport Lighting Systems and Signs tonight. These systems are critical to helping pilots navigate their aircraft to safe approaches, landing, and taxing; and is mandatory knowledge for anyone pursuing a private pilot license.
