Cadet Support Staff

CADET AEROSPACE OFFICER/NCO
The cadet aerospace officer instructs cadets in aerospace topics and leads or supervises aerospace activities. The position is usually not needed, except in the largest or most top-heavy squadrons. Because the duties are similar to those of a flight commander, commanders should carefully divide the labor of the two positions to avoid overlap.
Immediate Supervisor: Cadet Commander or Cadet Flight Sergeant

Key Duties

  • Instruct cadets in aerospace topics.
  • Lead aerospace-related activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee aerospace tutoring or mentoring.

CADET PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER/NCO

The cadet public affairs officer will work closely with the senior member public affairs officer in order to coordinate all squadron public affairs matters.
Immediate Supervisor: Cadet Commander or Cadet Flight Sergeant

Key Duties

  • Understanding and communicating base security requirements that restrict photo/video taking and other PA activities.
  • Preliminary screen photos before asking for permission to post through the PAO.
  • Oversee the squadron Facebook page and website.
  • Communicate with any online outreach from the public such as received Facebook messages or emails.
  • Oversee all PAO equipment such as cameras, go-pros, tripods, etc.


CADET SAFETY OFFICER OR NCO
Immediate Supervisor: Cadet Commander or Cadet Flight Sergeant

Key Duties

  • Assist the safety officer in presenting monthly safety briefings.
  • Assist the safety officer in conducting risk management (RM) reviews during special events and when in the field.
